Course Summary
Law enforcement personnel will be introduced to modern theory of advanced handgun skills and apply this knowledge to contrast good and bad techniques. You will prepare lesson plans, develop blocks of instruction and conduct safe, effective courses of fire. Students will develop the skills to assist shooters in developing the skills necessary to survive a deadly force encounter. You will learn coaching skills and techniques to assist shooters of all skill levels to improve speed and accuracy with their handgun. The foundation of this course of instruction is the S.A.F.E. Series exercises and Six Elements of Shooting. Each lesson will build on the previous block of instruction. Range safety will be stressed and you will make classroom presentations, conduct live and dry fire exercises and qualification courses of fire.
Required Equipment:
- Handgun (Revolvers shooters need to contact instructor prior)
- Minimum of 3 magazines
- Duty belt with duty holster and magazine pouches
- Body armor
- Baseball type hat
- 700 rounds of ball ammunition
- Recommended personal eye and ear protection
- Paper for note taking and a writing instrument
